Welcome to the Rotary Club of Aylesbury Hundreds
Aylesbury Hundreds is a well established club of local people who want to contribute to their local community and to aid those less fortunate than us around the world. We achieve this by organising practical assistance and by raising funds for charities and for our own projects.
Our regular meetings are informal and we have an active, varied and full programme that gives all members, their families and friends the opportunity to take part as they wish. We have a friendly and relaxed outlook but with a purposeful approach to everything we do. Nothing is mandatory and everything is voluntary.
Importantly we have fun in both our work and our social activities and are dedicated to helping others.
We hope you will find our website informative and that it will give you an insight into our activities and aims as well as an introduction to the Rotary movement. Whether you are curious or excited by the idea of joining the team we encourage you to contact us and to come along to our meetings and events to find out more – we will always be delighted to welcome you and enthusiastic in telling you about what we do. You can come along to try us out for as long as you like.
We fully understand that people may not know what Rotary is about – there are a lot of common misconceptions – actually it’s largely about what individual members and clubs choose to do in the name of Rotary. Again coming along to our meetings will soon enable you to appreciate and understand Rotary and how you can make a valuable and active contribution, and to make a real difference where it counts.
Although Rotary was founded over 100 years ago, our club was formed quite recently in 1990. We are based in Aylesbury but many of our members come from the surrounding villages and towns – you don’t have to live or work in Aylesbury.
Our regular meetings are held on Monday evenings (excluding bank holidays) and include dinner or a buffet – if you would like to attend please contact us beforehand so that we can make catering and access arrangements for your visit.
Interested – we hope to see you soon.

Rotary – The World’s First Service Organisation
Rotary International is a worldwide fellowship of business and professional people who take an active role in their communities, greatly enriching both their personal and their professional lives. It provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps to build goodwill and peace around the world.
Membership of a Rotary Club offers opportunities for:
- facilitating change within the community
- developing leadership skills
- understanding and having an impact on international humanitarian issues
- meeting new people and developing new friendships
- enjoying a wide range of activities that range from community service projects all the way through to events run purely for fun and fellowship.
Through Rotary’s service programmes, a Rotary club can have a significant effect on the quality of life in its community. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programmes for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development.
Rotary Foundation programmes offer opportunities to form international partnerships that help people in need around the world. The Rotary Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that promotes world understanding through international humanitarian service programmes and educational and cultural exchanges. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and others who share its vision of a better world.
Some 1.2 million Rotarians in approximately 30,000 clubs in more than 160 countries make significant contributions to the quality of life at home and around the globe.
